IMHO, The most important thing is to get the ISPs to offer you Instant
Messaging Accounts along with your POP accounts AND for companies to use
their own IM servers (can be co-hosted) like email.

Jabber is designed for this but I cannot find any ISPs offering Jabber as a
service either to consumers or companies.

Can someone explain - Why ?
