What do you mean by "start a server"? Install and run it on that platform
(e.g., OS X)? Or just log into another machine and start the server on
that machine? Right now, the server will run on Linux, *BSD, Solaris, and
other Unix flavors, as well as OS X (1.4.2 server only, not quite released
yet but in CVS) and win32 under Cygwin. No sure how well the Cygwin stuff
will run though.
