The SRV record only gives priority, host and port for the connection. E.g. if _jabber._tcp.company.com directs you to im.company.com the server name is company.com ... only the host it runs on is im.company.com. We just would have to define the "prefix". Somethink like "_jabberc2s._tcp". To my knowledge a DNS server always returns the same or nothing. But you can have different nameservers for internal and external use and you can have different ZONE files on them.
