1. Which OS u r using ?? 2. How could u know ur IP address ?? r u using ipconfig ??? 3. In which directory you have installed the Jabber Server ??
Suppose you have installed Jabber in : /home/jabber/jabber-1.4.1 Then you should go to that directory and then issue the command : ./jabberd/jabberd -h hostname & ./jabberd/jabberd -h 197.197.197.67 & Then if you give ps -f , you should be able to see Jabber Server running as a background service.
