There are some worthy tools for turning the "cvs log" output into ChangeLogs (cvs2cl.pl), as well as for making nice web pages complete with links into the cvsweb diffs (cvs2html).
I've attached a gzipped version of the ChangeLog for jabberd14 as an example.
