Sorry to tell you but JabberSMTP is not going to embed well into a mod_perl environment... it must maintain two socket connections(one for jabber one for SMTP). You are better off following the directions for setting up JabberSMTP as a stand alone component. And I am sure there is someone on this list that will be willing to contract support for you. If you have questions or suggestions for JSMTP talk to me... since i am the main developer on it these days :)
