I'm in the process of building a Jabber Server from scratch. Since the server may have to handle many thousands of users, I'm planning to incorporate load distribution. My question is with regard to domains. Since I plan on running N servers to handle M users, there will be N domains in use. Ideally, I'd like to have users connect as user@domain regardless of whether their domain is actually domain1, domain2, ... domainN. I can think of several ways of accomplishing this but is there a standard way for Jabber servers to handle this problem?
