That's what I was afraid of, but I can deal with it, I'm sure. It's just frustrating to write something and then realize when you're done debugging it that you overlooked this kind of thing. Then again, jabberd is significantly bigger than my code thus far, and it suffers that same problem, right?
That said, are there any (preferably good) C libraries for Jabber connections? I need to write both a client and a server-side component, and would prefer to use the same library for both parts to keep my learning curve and code bloat down to a minimum. C++ is acceptable as well, although I can easily enough find a few of the better C++ libraries on my own.
