You
should get the O'Reilly book 'Programming Jabber'. Chapter 9 (It may be online
for all I know) has a good example of how to write your own
component.

Subject: [JDEV] Adding Components to Jabber: HELPHi, I am a Jabber newbie, and I hope this is not a case of RTFM or STFW.
I want to know how to add components (transports) to JabberD. There's a doc at http://www.jabber.org/docs/ but it only talks about the merits and de-merits of the different components. I find a lot of info on how great it is that Jabber lets you plug-in your own components, but none say how you do it.
I want to know how I can build, for example, an *Accept* component. Could someone please help me on this?
Thanks in advance,
kav
