Settle down. It's just a bug (albeit a very very annoying one) with the Auto-away code. It's only been reported once (by you) and no one has given us any ideas how to recreate it (it doesn't seem to happen on all machines)
Unfortunately we were only notified of it shortly after Marc left Brazil to move back to the UK, and he is computerless at the moment - hence the delay in getting a fix out. It will be looked at it as soon has he can get his hands on a machine. In the meantime I have put a warning on the website, disabled auto-way by default, and modified the installer to pop up a warning telling people not to enable it. The the most constructive thing you can do if you see anyone flooding you with presence packets, is to tell them to disable auto-away and check the website for updates, or to move to a non-alpha client. And no - we have no way to make the fix a mandatory release. Are you offering to fix update.yabber.org so that it actually works?
