I was thinking of this as the way of doing KeepAlives. I can imagine an application-level gateway (HTTP proxy) that would check for HTTP and MIME protocol compliance. In which case, you really want to have the Content-Length of each chunk of data be correct, and yet keep the connection open. The MIME boundary might or might not be on a stanza boundary.
