We have just re-started with Jabber (after a initial look in 2000 :) We had two years of our own proprietary IM solution out there with light usage and no-one has ever asked for text formatting of any sort.
We now have 20 odd people using our pre-release jabber client and again, no-one appears to have noticed there is no text formatting, these users are currently on Yahoo! I think it's great to have a standard to use for this, and essential for interoperability, but we won't be using it any time soon. David. Cleartext Pty Ltd.
