Peter, But if I'm not mistaken, there is no way to access the log by sending an XML stanza to query the muc service.
I think people should be able to do presence and getting logs/history in two steps. But of course this raises an issue of how history is defined: before entering the room, or before requesting the history. That flexiblity should be in the spec too I think.
