I've just done a clean install of Panther (Mac OSX 10.3) and installed MySQL 3.23 with no problems. While running ./configure as root I get the following error:
checking for OpenSSL in the standard places... yes checking which storage drivers to build... mysql checking which authreg modules to build... anon pipe mysql checking for MySQL in the standard places... no checking for MySQL in /usr/include/mysql and /usr/lib... no checking for MySQL in /usr/local... no checking for MySQL in /usr/include/mysql and /usr/lib/mysql... no checking for MySQL in /usr/local/include/mysql and /usr/local/lib... no checking for MySQL in /sw/include/mysql and /sw/lib... no configure: error: Could not find MySQL (or higher)
What version of MySQL is jabberd2 looking for? The path to MySQL is /usr/local/mysql - is that not the standard place to put it? Is there any way to specify the path to the configure script? I'm no pro at hand editing these scripts, but I can give it a shot if needed...
Thanks for any help you might offer, doug Syntropo.com
