Hi Angel, I'm the developer who is working on the C version of the IRC-t. The version of the transport you found is broken in many respects and although I have a version that had some of the bugs repaired in, it uses an old and unsupported jabber "protocol" that was never accepted.
Saying that, I am already working on its replacement, and phase one sounds like what you are looking for. I'm formalising some of the thoughts/design into documentation to go onto the project site, as well as working on a prototype. I also have an almost completed simple irc-t written in perl, I just need to fix the room/user handler so it doesn't occasionally lose user information. That one is much easier to get to a stable state, and could be used as a proof-of-concept whilst I work on the C version.
