Hey Justin, thanks for the reply... and sorry for being so ambiguous. Yes, I was referring to jabberd v1.x.

I was originally looking into implementing a solution using JEP-0003 (PASS), and then JEP-0065, but after looking into it some more, it appeared that JEP-0096 was the "modern way to go".

I'm running FreeBSD 4.4 on a VPS account -- I couldn't get Twisted installed (which proxy65 relies on) and working correctly, so I started looking for another solution. (I know there's a Twisted port for FreeBSD, but the latest port is too old - at least based on the requirements listed in proxy65). Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to scrap FreeBSD, and go with Red Hat. For some reason I'm having a tough time implementing file transfers via a proxy (using a VPS or cheap dedicated server at a hosting provider). Any one have a working implementation or recommendations?

Thanks...
Dustin

v1.x of what? jabberd? There are many jabber servers, you know. :)

In any case, I don't know what you mean about a jabber server supporting file
transfers. If you're talking about the ability to relay transfers via proxy
(which is actually jep-0065, by the way), then you might want the proxy65
component:

If you mean jabberd2 and the proxy facility, then no, I don't believe this is
built-in. But maybe proxy65 works with it?
