Hi.

Newbie here. Indulge me.

My company is evaluating integrating an XMPP/Jabber client into our applications. We
tested against jabberd 1.4.x and ran into the 500K xmlnode length limit that for us is
a showstopper. I understand why the limit exists, but our application should be low
volume and on private servers so availability is not a big concern.

I read in the email archive that the 500K limit is implementation-specific. Is that
correct?

Does jabberd 2 have the 500K xmlnode limit?

What server implementations do not have the limit or have a configurable limit?

I also read recommendations to break large messages down into smaller (32K) chunks and
reassemble them at the destination. Is that approach still recommended?

Thanks in advance,
John Liston
