Howdy folks,

There's been a fair bit of interest and some confusion surrounding the
Win32 port of jabberd2. I'm writing this to make clear what the status
of this work is.

In early March Peter Hinz ported the codebase using VC++. This port did
not include working s2s and resolver components. I made this available
at cataclysm.cx for people who wanted to play. Its since been removed
from here. This version is not a product of the jabberd project, and is
not supported in any way whatsoever. I will not be answering queries
about it.

In early April I merged the necessary changes into the standard
codebase. I implemented the missing pieces for s2s and resolver to work,
and made the entire thing build with MinGW. This is currently available
in jabberd2 CVS, in the v2_0 branch, and will be released with v2.0s3,
which should be available in a week or two.

Its important to note that running jabberd2 on win32 is not a supported
configuration. If you try it, you should subscribe to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I will only be responding to things about it
there, and then only if it impacts Unix users. Any bug reports or
feature requests filed that haven't been confirmed on a Unix build will
be silently closed.

This is the state of play, and it will remain this way until someone
steps up to maintain the win32 build. If you're interested, contact me.

Rob.
