All of the existing approaches for encrypting and signing XMPP stanzas 
have known issues. I would expect this to be addressed in the next year 
(e.g., by the next Council) -- there are some alternatives being 
discussed but they are still preliminary. So right now there is no good 
solution to your problem, unfortunately, other than sticking with 
JEP-0027 until something better is developed.
