That actually sounds quite good. But it's still in experimental, so there isn't going to be any client support for quite a while.

Well, all you'd need is for clients to recognise SHIM headers and copy them in the same chat thread or when you hit "reply". Just like in an email client. They'd also need the ability to pick someone from the roster and add them in a SHIM header to a message or chat thread. This wouldn't be MSN specific, it could be used for jabber only purposes too.


It was just a little thought really upon reading your post. I think using groupchat will cover your needs, and if it doesn't it would only need small adjustments in specs and clients.
