I have to correct this: It's supported by jabberd14 since version 1.4.
I do not know if jabber-1.2 already supported SRV records.
BTW: Are the old versions of jabber/jabberd still available somewhere?
download.jabber.org/dists/ doesn't seem to exist anymore.
