Has there been any suggestion or work toward p2p/serverless jabber sessions? If anyone can point me towards any proposals or discussion on the subject that would be appreciated.
For what it's worth, i once started a discussion on the topic on the Psi forums: http://psi.affinix.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=2282
However, i have the feeling that most of that discussion is making clear what i actually meant with RendezVous chatting :)
Interesting discussion. It does look like it could be implemented as a mini-server, possibly as a plug-in to existing clients.
I think it is not necessary to embed a mini jabber server in client.
What we need:
1. Be able to discover Jabber server on a network (thanks to the rendez-vous/zeroconf protocol)
2. Create an account and log on this server.
3. Browse chatrooms on the server and discuss both in a chatroom with other peoples (or even privatly).
This seems to me the most obvious and simple approach.
