There is another proto-JEP at: http://www.jabber.org/jeps/inbox/profile.html That one contains a nickname field and only needs PubSub added to it to complete the picture, I think. I do recall stpeter saying something about using PubSub for the profile stuff a long time ago, but it doesn't seem to have crept into the document yet.
