The process flow for JEP-0084 shows a client creating both a metadata and data node, and then publishing their avatar to the data node. Optionally, they can also publish to an HTTP URL.
My question: is there any reason why a client couldn't skip the data node and *only* publish to the HTTP URL? If so, is it even necessary to create the data node if nothing gets published to it? I want to avoid taxing XMPP server resources by offloading the avatar storage to a seperate web server, and I'm wondering if this is a viable alternative.
Thanks,
