As others have said, most developer conversation takes place nowadays on the forums/lists/websites of particular software projects. In the early days, there was only one main project (the original jabberd server) and the other projects kind of revolved around that sun. Now the developer community is more distributed -- there are multiple server projects, lots of client and library projects, etc. Plus the core technologies are well defined and stable (RFC 3920/3921 etc.). So most of the discussion now is about extending the core protocols (thus the Standards-JIG list) and discussion here is not as lively. Maybe it's good, maybe it's bad, but that's the way it is. :-) /psa
