Can it be that they convert, say, Yahoo -> SIMPLE -> sametime locally? honestly I see no point in doing two conversions on same box. So it seemed more natural for me that, say, Yahoo provide SIP/SIMPLE interface and IBM uses it. Yahoo is already integrated with MSN. So they have to have some sort of internal protocol. That may be just the same interface that is used for sametime.
