FOSTEL 2007 Paris, April 4 and 5.
Again this year there will be a Free/Open Source Telephony Summit (FOSTEL). After three years in which the German Unix User Group (GUUG) organized this event in Germany, we are moving to Paris this year, where the OpenWengo project is taking the lead in organizing the event. And we'll have some more changes: Voice and chat and other forms of real-time cooperation over the Internet are moving closer together all the time. Thats the reason we are widening our scope from Telephony and VoIP to all sorts of real-time collaboration over the Internet. This includes instant messaging as well as shared whiteboards or communal text editing and many many other things. There will be no public conference like in the last years. Instead we concentrate on the most important part: Bringing the developers together to show what they are doing, to learn what others are doing, and to work together on improving their software. Whats not going to change is the open and spontaneous atmosphere. There is no limit on the number of participants, like in the last years. We hope to see many of you in Paris!
