I have written a jabber bot that people are using just fine. However I am getting complaints that gTalk isn't logging the bot's side of the conversation, just their side. So the logged conversation looks like:

user: list
user: remove foo

But should look like:

user: list
bot:  foo, bar, zap
user: remove foo
bot:  foo removed.

Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have a clue why gTalk isn't logging the bot's side of the conversation? (And while I'm talking about gTalk, is there any way to convince it to render the HTML version of each message?)
