Well, OAuth and Data Portability are two different things. OAuth lets you authorize other entities to access your information (e.g., if you wanted a FOAF service to access your roster), whereas Data Portability lets you export your data (so that you could take your roster somewhere else). The portability problem is harder in XMPP because all of those presence subscriptions assumed you had one identity and now you have another. But naturally we could try to solve that problem.
