Thanks for all the replies. Too bad gtalk blocks this (from both the client and the server side.) This really should be a user option in my opinion.
gtalk server supports "open federation" so it's possible for a gtalk user to chat with a user registered on a server that, say, I'm running. In this case would gtalk also require you to have the "foreign" user in your roster, or would it just blindly forward the message? > This is a "feature" of google's server: if I use their server and you > send me a message while I don't have you on my list, message will be > rejected by server (you will get an error). >>>> Is it possible to send a message to an ID that's not >>>> in once's buddy list? >>> Yes, you can do this. _______________________________________________ JDev mailing list FAQ: http://www.jabber.org/discussion-lists/jdev-faq Forum: http://www.jabberforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=20 Info: http://mail.jabber.org/mailman/listinfo/jdev Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________
