Hello Jdev, I am looking for a low-dependancy solution to be able to send notification messages on system events from my systems.
In practice, what I need is a scriprable (Bash, Perl, etc) way to send a message to a given recipient. Bash would be the best, but given it would have to leverage an external component for network access, Perl seems reasonable. I remember DJ Adams had some example of this in his book, but I do not know what is currently the best way to go about this.
