Chatopus seems to be under reasonably continued development, so maybe you could ask them to get with the times.. ;)


I hope that Facebook Chat will *not* support XEP-0078 and that all old
clients will start to support SASL authentication, which has been a
standard part of XMPP since the publication of RFC 3920 in 2004.
XEP-0078 was deprecated by the XSF in 2006 and made obsolete in 2008.
It's time to leave that old protocol behind now. :)

Absolutely. Facebook explicitly state that they do not support XEP-0078 and only return SASL options in the stream, so that's a positive. However they do say that it's "not *currently* supported" so perhaps it is on the cards.

Any FB developers on the lists we can convince otherwise ? :)
