I would sugest you look at the J2EE specification from sun for full spec of what an EJB Container is supposed to do and what kind of services it is suppose to implement

Subject: [jdjlist] ejb container specifcations

Hi Guys,

I am implementing my own ejb server. Can anybody help me on following questions.

1) What is the role of a ejb container while deploying a bean and interacting with a bean (like packaging and deploying a bean, providing runtime environment for  bean, etc)

2) How containers are implemented in most of the ejb servers that are available in the market today.

3) If I want to implement my own stub-skelton architecture instead of that provided by 'rmic'(for ejb server). What points I have to take care of. Any examples on this.

Further if anybody can point me to how these self implemented stub-skelton programs interact with rmi registry(any examples).

At present I have only these questions in my mind. Any replies to these questions are welcome.

Regards,
Harneet
