And to get away from the "standalone" thread:
If one uses rudimentary (e.g. Java 1.0) commands resp. concepts , the
produced .class files run nearly without problems
(except differences in the width of the standard applet font used by MSIE
and Navigator + possible memory limitations of course) on any PC,MAC, Psion
(Epoc32) pocket computer (beginning with 16 MB Ram !) or Linux PDA (latter
even with a built-in JIT compiler that needs about 2 seconds to start, wow
!)
