Hi, Just a follow on from the code that was posted.... By using sendRedirect I think that the client is prompted to issue a new request to the named page. If you used a request dispatcher to forward the request it would be more efficient as it avoids the round trip to the client. Hope that's of some use, I know it's not what you were asking about and you may have good reason to issue the redirect in preference to forwarding. Peter.
