Penski, you mentioned a Java compiler. Are you saying, in java I can create
a stand alone EXE file in Java?

To all, can you create stand alone programs with Java? If the programe is
not totally stand alone, how do you get the programe to run on another
machine that does not have jave.

I guess the question is, what components do you have to put on the machine
in order for the machine to be able to run your code?

Partly because of the notes under B.) you might go for a multi-image
solution in (D)HTML similar to the simple concept used e.g. for the 3 tabbed
pages
following http://uuhome.de/penski/p1.htm or .../soccer.htm created by me
(years ago - I admit)

> B.) Do any of you use JavaScript?
A few days ago I read in an Internet security newsletter that Javascript is
not very popular/secure and therefor often disabled
or suggested to be disabled inside the "average" browser.
Since I've bought a Java compiler I prefer creating (yes I know : and d e b
u g g i n g ...) applets instead.
Cisco Systems even supports user-compiled Java[TM] classes (combined with
XML) in their meanwhile widespread IP phones.

sincerely,
