Try deleting (or renaming) the jar first, and then creating a new jar.  I think ANT tries to prevent you from overwriting the old jar.

Subject: [jdjlist] Jar Update Task using ANT1.4

Hi All,
I am trying to update an existing .jar file using ANT script. It says "Cannot create temporary file". I did shutdown both the webserver and app server and file permissions of existing .jar. But to no avail. Can anyone pl. post an ant task for updating an existing jar.
TIA
-Janaki
