Ok, here's my two cents from a none web oriented guy. I generally spend
my time on:
- Mainframe: 40%
- Unix (of some flavor): 30%
- Win NT/2000: 30%
So everything developed has to be cross-cross platform. :) :)
The languages that I use are: Java or C (sometimes REXX). Most of the
development is done on a Win2000 box, sometimes RH Linux.
Tools:
- Eclipse
- KEdit (excellent text editor with syntax highlighting)
- MS Visual Studio v6
- other C compilers installed:
- LCC-WIN32
- BloodShed (Dev-C/C++)
- WinAmp v2
- VisualDiff v2
- Inno Setup
- MS XML Notepad
- WebSphere MQ (aka MQSeries)
- Mercator
- J2SE v1.4.1
- Regina Rexx v3 (Rexx is an awesome scripting language)
- Eudora (email)
- TClockEx (clock/calendar in the System tray)
Current development PC is a new laptop: Compaq Presario 1525 - very nice!!!
