Applets used at our Intranet site include some vendor supplied ( e.g. Oracle) and our own. The vendor supplied use older versions of the jdk and do not seem to be upward compatible. Installing the Java 2 plugin knocks them off the air and Oracle also conflicts. Is there any way to tell an applet to use a particular JDK? This can be solved in applications by setting the appropriate classpath at runtime but don't know how to do this for applets. We do not wish to download plugins dynamically, all software must be installed on the workstation prior to executing the applets.
Thanks,
Mary
