The InstallAnywhere NOW edition cannot do the things asked, so I did not recommend it based on the list of things needed (ie OS specific features). These things are not supported by the NOW edition.

The Standard or Enterprise can handle these things no problem.

The other alternative is to go to FreashMeat.net an look at installers. I am reasonable sure that there will be one there that can do these things.

InstallAnywhere from ZeroG. It is not free, but will do all that you ask.

There is also InstallShield, again, not free, but will do all that you

ask.

I currently use InstallAnywhere.

Hi,

We have a requirement where in we need to deploy the java application
into the production environment and we are looking for the install
software (like install shield, WISE), could some body through a light on
which software to go for? Preferably free of cost and reliable.

Install software should perform the following as part of the

installation,

1. DSN creation
2. JRE Installation
3. DLL registration

Any early reply on this would be appreciable.

Thanks & Regards,
Rathna
