I think one size (or better to say cache algorithm) definitely does not fit all.  Here is a good article on one web page caching with different algorithms:

If the cache is sized well is there much difference between LRU and LFU?
I know that our cache implementation needs a redesign but it seems those things are never very high on the company's priority list. :-)
