With JDK 7u60 and 8u20 now GA, it's time to plan for the JDK 7u80 release.
In line with prior communication [1] to this mailing list, JDK 7u80 is the last planned Oracle-led JDK 7u release to be developed within this OpenJDK Project. The current proposal is that 7u80 should be the last release at the end of public updates [2], planned for April 2015. Given that 7u80 is the last planned Oracle-led JDK 7u release to be developed within this OpenJDK Project, we need to consider raising the bar for acceptable changes in the near future well ahead of time, like we did for 7u60. More details of milestones will become available in a follow up email. As always, please note that these plans are preliminary and subject to change. cheers, dalibor topic [1] http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/jdk7u-dev/2014-April/008910.html [2] http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html -- <http://www.oracle.com> Dalibor Topic | Principal Product Manager Phone: +494089091214 <tel:+494089091214> | Mobile: +491737185961 <tel:+491737185961> ORACLE Deutschland B.V. & Co.
