Hi, Whilst it is up to the maintainer of the 7u project to decide what to do, I thought one thing we had established a long time ago is that it is good practice to check with (and CC) the original author of a fix when requesting a back port. Backports are generally initiated by said author, not just anyone else who'd like it backported. The original author may know something you don't ... appropriateness .. a bug tail .. etc.
Also I think unless you are a committer to 7u then you first need to find a committer who is willing to sponsor the change. The fix isn't going to be pushed by the 7u maintainer - at least they have no obligation to do so. -phil. On 11/06/2016 01:10 PM, Tiago Daitx wrote:
Hi, Please review the backported changes for JDK-8012351 to 7u. JDK-8012351 <https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8012351>: Bold fonts everywhere in GTK L&F on Ubuntu with JDK 7 JDK 9 changeset: http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk9/jdk9/jdk/rev/5ff0d5f1a97f JDK 8u changeset: http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk8u/jdk8u/jdk/rev/50c530973203 JDK 8/9 Review Thread: apologies, I couldn't find any such review thread. Webrev/Patch: the 8u changeset applies cleanly with 2 small 1-line offsets in hunks #1 and #2 from SunFontManager.java. Note: I'm a Participant, not a Contributor but I assume the backport is trival enough to not require a signed OCA. Regards,
