Attendees: Michelle Caisse, Matthew Adams, Michael Bouschen, Craig Russell

NOTICE: No meeting next week (July 6) unless someone proposes an agenda by next Thursday July 5

Agenda:

1. Put all annotations on class, name field within annotation? Craig would like to have the ability to put the entire annotation for a class on the class, and follow the pattern of xml. This might more closely align the xml and the annotations. It would require a change to the definition of @PersistenceCapable to allow a list of fields. What if you annotate the class with some fields and then also annotate a field? AI Craig start a discussion on email

2. Nested embedded annotations? The xml is currently more powerful than annotations by allowing embedded embedded fields. The annotations need to be extended to permit this. AI Craig start a discussion on email

3. Primary key, foreign key annotations? Want to be able to specify a key for a subset of annotations. Key, value, join and element. How about making them arrays of a type? How about making these subinterfaces of a @Constraint annotation? AI Michelle start discussion on email.

4. Other issues

JPOX doesn't yet support persistent properties or persistent interfaces via annotations. Track this issue via http://jpox.org/ servlet/jira/browse/JAVAFIVEPLUGIN-69

Michael made an experiment to see if it's possible to create an instance that implements an @Annotation by using anonymous inner class. It compiles; more work is needed to see if it's useful.

AI Change from Craig to Michelle discuss svn:eol-style on email.
