EMail "A new general method to update object databases / Should it be included in Java Data Objects, JDO ?” There are two aspects to this discussion: persistence by reachability; and garbage collection. There are no root objects in JDO, and making an object persistent will make the entire graph persistent. Garbage collection probably belongs as a function of the database. Discussion continues on the email thread. 2. Reading metadata files when running the tck Which component reads the metadata files? The implementation reads the .jdo and .orm files.
