Hi, Please disregard all problems I mentioned last week. Something iffy seems to be going when you compile onnv_80 and use the SXCE78 shipped SUNWglib.
What did I do: - I wanted to re?nstall my new provided work laptop with Opensolaris anyway so I did a fresh install of SXCE78 on it and tried to reproduce my problems, which I couldn't. This ruled out the problem being SUNWGlib on its own. After the problems with onnv_80 + (SUNWGlib shipped with SXCE78 || SUNWGlib shipped with sfwnv_78) I tried the following: - Compiled swnv_80 so the proto area would be there, then did a 'make install' in the pkgdefs/SUNWGlib directory, after which I installed the SUNWGlib package. - pkgtool uninstall-pkgs *.spec - pkgtool build *.spec This solved all my problems. I still have no idea what the problem exactly is with using onnv_80 and the b78 sfwnv gate (like i mentioned, I checked the flag days and didnt find anything relevant) but I presume onnv_80 needs an in-sync SUNWGlib or something. If any Sun engineer (hello list ;-) ) would like me to investigate further or would like me to provide further information or file a bug, please let me know. I won't file a bug out of my own at the moment since I kind of feel like I have wasted enough time of people already the last week with the mess-up of the missing ';' in my patch plus the many emails I've sent this week. This is no emo-moment or cheap tv-novela moment but a genuine statement and no 'oh patrick you're wrong' replies are expected/needed or what so ever. It's just how I am, I mess up, feel bad about it for a week or two, then I see other people mess up as well and I feel less bad ;-) This isn't only related to code/patch commits but also about me being able to be totaly excited about things happening and making people feel uncomfortable, when applicable, my censiry apologies. ANYWAY, things seem to be fixed for me now. Laca, you mentioned you wanted to get to the bottom of this, in my oppinion the bottom doesn't lay in the JDS part but the ON BFU + SFWNV update area. Please contact me how to proceed when you want to investigate further :D -- Patrick
