I know it is late in the vermillion-devel 2.22 release cycle, but I am hoping there is still time to add this one more module.
The attached files make the changes to spec-files to add ggz-python to our build system. The games.diff shows the changes needed to the SUNWgnome-games.spec file and the base-specs/gnome-games.spec file. The other attachments are the ggz-python.spec file and 3 patches needed to build on Solaris. This ggz-python module is needed by glchess, one of the games included in gnome-games. The glchess program provides a "Game->Network Game" feature, but this option fails to work properly if ggz-python isn't installed on the system. I have tested and glchess seems to work well with network gaming after adding these ggz-python bindings. We overlooked this module because glchess does not fail to build if ggz-python is missing from the system, just the menu option "Game->Network Game" fails to work properly. If we opt to not add this new module, we probably need to hack glchess to avoid showing this menu option, since it won't work. Since we are already doing a lot of work to integrate GGZ into GNOME 2.22, I recommend that we wrap this up rather than leaving this last needed module for the next release cycle. Is it okay to commit this? I wanted to ask before doing so, since I realize that it will mean we will need to do some extra ARC and OSR work, though I am also happy to help with this. I won't commit these changes until I get some agreement that this is okay from the JDS team, since it is late in the release cycle.
