I just added this totem-06-novisual patch to our build to turn off the feature that when you play audio in totem it plays the goom visualizer. The problem with turning this on is that goom has *really* bad performance and induces stuttering. We should fix goom to be better, but until then we should turn off this feature by default. This patch does this.
