Speed of listReifiedStatements versus some alternatives

I have a graph with 9054 reified statements in it. It seems, and I
haven't fully-profiled it yet, that counting the instances of
reifications of particular statements is taking a long time. Would
anyone recommend experiments in writing my own alternative to
listReifiedStatements(Statement)?
