Merge pull request #352 from nre-ableton/nre/master/future-check-exceptions
Check for exceptions when updating submodules.
Deep testing has detected a pre-existing case where
git processes may linger or hang. The case existed
before this change and the testing of this change
has found no additional issues related to the change

Require Jenkins 2.107.3 or later
Require a Jenkins version 6 months newer than the original Java 8
minimum version. Match the minimum Jenkins version of the git plugin.
